Air Painters recently completed an industrial boiler coating restoration project at Domingos Meat Packers, working alongside Thermogenics Inc. to help address a coating warranty issue.
Industrial coating projects like this come down to one of the most important parts of the job: proper surface preparation. Before any new coating could be applied, our crew removed the loose and failing coating from the boilers using scrapers, grinders, and palm sanders with coarse abrasive paper. This process allowed us to get back to a sound surface and prepare the boilers for a new protective finish.
Once the failing coating was removed, the boilers were thoroughly wiped down with xylene to help remove remaining dust, grease, residue, and other potential contaminants that could affect adhesion.
After the preparation was complete, the full unit was coated with Dampney Thurmalox® 8200 DTM Series Heat-Resistant Coating. This product is designed for high-temperature environments and provides a durable protective coating suitable for industrial equipment exposed to heat and demanding service conditions.
The completed boilers had a clean, uniform finish, and all parties were pleased with the final result.
At Air Painters, we understand that industrial coating work is not just about appearance. It is about preparation, product selection, protection, and completing the work properly so the finished system can perform as intended.
Another successful industrial coating restoration completed by the Air Painters team.
